Shirley Mae Rector

Shirley Mae Rector, age 79, of Belle, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the Frene Valley Nursing Facility in Owensville.

She was born June 21, 1941, in Bland, a daughter to the late Virgil and Edna (Southard) Perkins.

On January 2, 1959 she was united in marriage to Milford Rector in Bland. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2010.

Shirley was a lifelong area resident.

Shirley enjoyed having cakewalks, going to the parades and fireworks, and watching her soap operas, the Bold and The Beautiful and the Young and The Restless. She loved making big meals for her family and loved the time she got to spend with them. She especially loved the time with her grandchildren. Shirley will be missed greatly by her family and her friends.

Shirley is survived by: one son, Dennis and his wife Blenda of Belle; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Benard Perkins and his wife Gloria of Gerald, Don Perkins and his wife Audrey of Bland, and Gary Perkins of Owensville; and one sister-in-law, Rena Perkins of Bowling Green as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by one son, David Rector, two grandchildren, Rachel Theriot and Mathew Lowery, and one brother, Marvin Perkins.

Visitation for Shirley will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Warren Cemetery near Owensville.
