Rose May Struemph

Rose May Struemph, age 96, of Belle passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Westphalia Assisted Living in Westphalia.

Rose was born February 5, 1924, in Auburn, Missouri, a daughter to the late Orville and Emma (Thompson) Conner.

Rose was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Alexander’s Catholic Church in Belle.  

On September 2, 1939 she was united in marriage to Charlie A. Struemph. Charlie preceded her in death on February 3, 1988.

Rose enjoyed sewing quilt tops, playing cards, bowling, putting together jig saw puzzles, and playing the harmonica when she was younger. She was a housewife most of her life which was a job she loved. Rose loved spending time with her family and visiting with friends. She will be missed tremendously by her family and all that knew her.

Rose is survived by: four sons, Clarence Struemph and his wife Joyce of Desoto, Charles Struemph of St. Clair, Larry Struemph and his wife Lina of Belle, and Henry Struemph of Belle; one daughter, Ann Dingley and her husband Charles of Belle; fifteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosie Shaffer, and four siblings, Charles Conner, Pleasant “Arb” Conner, Frances M. McMasters Hassler, and Baby Ruth Robertson.   

Visitation for Rose will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Shane Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow in the Koenig Cemetery.
