Geraldine Rae Valley (Combs), age 83, of Belle passed away Monday, January 13, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Geraldine was born August 18, 1936 in Chicago, a daughter to the late Arthur George and Gertrude Mae (Jarvis) Combs.
On April 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Valley, Sr at the Christian Church in Gerald. To this union, 10 children were born. Lawrence preceded her in death on January 4, 1984.
Geraldine was a lifelong area resident and worked for a brief time at Wilson’s Restaurant in Rosebud. She was a homemaker for most of her life which was a job she loved.
Geraldine had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. She enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart, reading, sewing, playing card games, and playing bingo either at home or at places in the area. Geraldine liked to watch Murder She Wrote, The Animal Planet, and the Game Show Channel. Above all, she loved the time spent with her family and friends.
Geraldine is survived by: Her children, James Valley of Bland, Charles Valley and his wife Monica of Belle, Lawrence Valley, Jr and his wife Julie of Bland, Ron Valley and his wife April of Owensville, Robert Valley and his wife Glenda of Belle, Mary Valley-Wann of Owensville, John Valley of Belle, Irene Valley and her boyfriend, Jeremy Koons of Belle, and Harold Valley of Rosebud; thirty two grandchildren; forty eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren as well as many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lawrence, Geraldine was preceded in death by, one son, Francis Valley, five grandchildren, Charles Valley II, Richard Valley, Larry Valley, Steven Valley, and Megan Valley. Three great-great-grandchildren, Manda Valley, Fayth Valley, and Nevaeh Lestarge, and eight brother and sisters.
Visitation for Geraldine from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the Liberty Cemetery near Belle.
