Winfred L. (Buck) Drewel, 93, 0f Belle, passed away May 7, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1932 to Henry and Annabelle (Givens) Drewel. On January 10, 1953, he was united in marriage to Erma Morgan in Searcy, Arkansas.
A lifelong resident of the Belle-Bland community, Buck began his hog and then cattle farming career by buying a farm along Dry Fork in 1956. Having begun in 1950, he continued working at the International Shoe Company until it’s closure in 1980. During those 30 years he missed two years while serving in the United States Army from 1952-1954.
In addition to his wife of 73 years, Buck is survived by his daughter Debbie Dewel of Belle; two sons, Dwayne of Owensville, and Douglas with wife Rhonda of Belle and one granddaughter, Rachel Drewel of Bland; and sisters, Velma Malawy of St. Louis, Edna Weatherford of Union, and Doris Schneidewind of Owensville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Melba Drewel, Mildred Givens, Norma Garver, and Almo Baer, brothers William (Bill), Delmar (Dink), and Elmer (Bunny), Marvin, and Charles Drewel.
Visitation will be from 11:00 to 11:30 on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Funeral services will be immediately after with interment at Skaggs Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Skaggs Cemetery.
