Thomas Leroy Stroupe

Thomas Leroy Stroupe of Bland route died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, in the Gasconade Manor nursing home in Owensville. He was 81. Tom was born on January 16, 1931, in Washington County. He is the son of the late William E. and Myrtle Fann George Stroupe. On December 5, 1949, Tom was married to Fern Mercer in Potosi. They are blessed with three sons.
Surviving Tom is his wife Fern their sons Don with his wife Connie of Linn, Raymond with his wife Linda of Bland, and Roy with his wife Sandy of Owensville. There are eight grand children and seven great grand children.
Tom is preceded by all of his siblings, a brother William Jr., and three sisters Cheryl Joyce Hunter, Marie Summers, and Geraldine Neff.
Tom began his working life in the shoe factory but soon joined the Laborers Union where he remained a member of over 50 years. Tom and Fern were members of the Faith Christian Center in Belle.
