Sonja Marlene Seymour of Belle, died Saturday morning, December 3, 2011, in her home. Sonja suffered from a rare disease known as Multiple System Atrophy that causes symptoms similar to Parkinson's disease. She was 68. Sonja was born on July 1, 1943, in Princeton, N.C. She is the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian Pearce Johnson. On February 14, 1994, she was married to Oral Seymour in Raleigh, NC. In July 1994 they moved to Missouri and made their home in Belle. Sonya was retired from Northern Telecom Communications. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling with Oral on the back of their Harley, quilting, needle point, gardening, canning and time with her family. Sonja and Oral are members of Pilot Knob Baptist Church.
Surviving Sonja is her husband and primary care giver Oral. Also surviving are 2 sons Micheal and Steven Pulley both of Goldsboro, N.C., a daughter Angela Hernandez with her husband Juan of Hookerton, N.C., and 2 sisters JoAnn Kascsak with husband David, and Melva Ipock of Goldsboro. Sonja's step family includes 2 sons Jeff Seymour of Versailles, MO., and Byron Seymour with his wife Joni of Marshfield, MO, and 3 daughters Teri Novotny of Salina, KS, Shelly Vishnefske with her husband Leo of Columbia, MO, and Lynn Smith with her husband Jeff of Fairplay, MO. There are 21 grand children Meagan, Andrew, Lindsey, Jeffery, Heather, Nicci, Leasa, Meagan, Chelsea, Ryan, Kylie, Britton, Cole, Corey, Derek, Catherine, Tyler, Gabreil, Michael, Bryan, and Justin, and two great grand children Malik and Brennen.
Sonja is preceded in death by a daughter Janet Pulley, 3 brothers Walter, C.L., and Glen Johnson, and two sisters Lucile Woodard and Francis Waters. Also preceding Sonja is a step son Greg Seymour and grand daughter Adeleigh Seymour.
