Shirley Lynn Lange was born in Belle, December 6, 1934, to the late Russell and Rose (nee Smith) Boyce. After Rose's death, Russell married Doris McClelland. Shirley then had a step sister, Deanna (Donoho), of Dallas, Texas, who survives. Shirley passed Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in the Westphalia Nursing Home at the age of 78.
Shirley was married in 1952 to Jerry Lange who preceded her in death in 1989. To this union, three children were born.
Shirley is survived by a daughter Audrey McKinney with her husband Mike of Belle, and two sons Phillip Lange with his wife Josephine of Eugene and Jerry Lange with his wife Wendy of Jefferson City. Shirley has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, Paula Balmer with her husband Derrick, Taylor and Alicen of Jefferson City, Michelle Miller with her husband Tony, Collin, Logan and Kaleb of Belle, Phillip Lange of Eugene, Tara Lange with her fiance Tony Deaver, Brayden, Cole and Reagan of Columbia, Tiffany Lange of Warrensburg and Trinity Lange of Jefferson City. Shirley is also survived by 4 step-grandchildren.
Shirley worked in the food hospitality industry until her retirement. In later years, she was a caregiver to several elderly people in the Belle and Summerfield area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belle and Order of the Eastern Star in Gray Summit. Shirley loved music, dancing, playing Bingo and most of all, her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services for Shirley were held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from Sassmann's Chapel in Belle. Interment was in Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
