Ruby Mildred Cook of Belle died peacefully in her home, early Wednesday morning, May 2, 2012. She was 90. Ruby was born on February 24, 1922, in Maries County. She is the daughter of the late Rev John and Rilda Thompson Jett. On April 20, 1940, Ruby was married to Bennie Cook and their marriage was blessed with five children.
Surviving Ruby are two sons Buddy Cook with his wife Lourea and Gary Cook with his wife Bessie both of Belle and two daughters Janet Kottwitz with her husband Gene of Belle and Marsha Land with her husband Sam of Jefferson City. Also surviving is a sister in law Ruby Jett. There are 7 grand children, 27 great grand children and 1 great great grand daughter.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Bennie and an infant daughter Kathleen Faye Cook. Also preceding Ruby are all of her brothers and sisters Bryce Jett, Jewel Blackwell, Opal Litton, Vera Glenn, Irene Pendleton, Dale Helmig, Marie Ennis, Bernice Linghorst, Boyd Jett, infant Neva Jett, and another infant girl.
Ruby was a lifetime resident of the Belle community. She worked for 33 years in the International Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.
