Ronald Dean Gehlert

Ronald Dean Gehlert, age 86, of Bland passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Stonebridge of Owensville.

Ronald was born August 5, 1938, in Belle, a son to the late John Edward and Laura Ida (Danuser) Gehlert.

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Cooper Hill.

On October 25, 1958 He was united in marriage to Clarissa Ann Given in Bland. Clarissa survives of their home near Bland.

Ronald had been employed at Grimco Inc for many years before retiring.

Ronald enjoyed being outdoors. He built muzzle loaders and hunted deer and turkey with those as well as bow and arrows. Ronald liked working in his shop doing woodworking as well as other projects. He fished and liked garage sales and going to flea markets. Ronald was down to earth and enjoyed the simpler things in life. He will be missed greatly by his family and those that knew and loved him.

Ronald is survived by: his wife Clarissa; and two brothers, Gary and Randall Gehlert as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura Gehlert, his son, Dennis Dean Gehlert, two sisters, Faye White and Nadine White, and seven brothers, Lee Gehlert, Alferd Gehlert, Tom Gehlert, Connie Gehlert, Charles Gehlert, Gordon Gehlert, and Robert Gehlert.

Visitation for Ronald will be on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment in the Old Bland Cemetery with full military honors.
