Richard A. Turner, Sr

Richard A. Turner, Sr. age 69, of Belle, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.  

 

Richard was born December 27, 1954, in Hermann, a son to the late William “Bill” and Dorothy (Zimmerman) Turner. 

 

Richard was a 1974 graduate of Owensville High School. He had been employed at Henniges Automotive Sealing in New Haven for over 19 years. 

 

Richard loved being in the woods hunting or out fishing in a lake or river. His hobbies included collecting wolf and Indian items, listening to classic country music, or watching westerns. John Wayne movies were his favorite. Richard was a jokester and had a great sense of humor and he loved his family. He will be missed greatly by them and anyone who knew and loved him.  

 

Richard is survived by: five children, Richard Alan Turner, Jr and his wife Traci of Bland, D.W. Scott Turner and his wife Michelle of Owensville, Angela Neal and her husband Jeffrey of Bland, Joshua Turner of Licking, and Theresa Turner and her fiancé Dion Becker of Freeburg; sixteen grandchildren,  Nicole, A.J., Ashley, Dakoda, Dustin, Jacob, James, Kalab, Hannah, Logan, Christian, Christopher, Isaiah, Joseph, Johnny, and Liam; eleven great-grandchildren, Oakley, Ariel, Braxton, Lois, Xander, Finley, Ophelia, Osiris, Sabrina, Serenity, and Aubree; five siblings, Donna Burns of Beaufort, Roger Turner and his wife Mary of Drake, David Turner and his wife Adel of Berger, Penny Turner of Belle, and Mark Schmidt and his wife Felicia of Belle; two ex-wives and friends, Tammy Schelting and Shirley Eckhoff as well as many extended family members and friends. 

 

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one infant daughter Tiffany, his sister Jean Schmidt, and a brother-in-law Phillip Burns. 

 

A memorial service for Richard will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Belle.
