Randy “Hondo” Ray Medlock, age 63, of Bland, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at Stonebridge of Owensville.
Randy was born January 14, 1959, to the late William Lowell and Nora Opal (Walker) Medlock, the 9th child out of 10 born to this union.
He was a 1977 graduate of Bland High School. Randy had been employed at Polytech in Owensville and then worked at ABB in Jefferson City until he took disability. Randy was baptized in the Bland Baptist Church and had been attending the Bland Christian Church.
Randy was a multi-sport athlete when he was young playing baseball and basketball in high school and played in softball leagues afterwards. He enjoyed golfing and was a member at the Belle golf course. Randy was a St. Louis Cardinal, K.C. Chiefs, and Rams fan when they were in St. Louis. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, cooking, and loved to visit and talk with anyone. Above all, Randy loved spending time with his nieces, nephews and family and will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved him.
Randy is survived by: five siblings, Lonnie Medlock of Bland, Bonnie Koch and her husband Bill of Clinton, Connie Hacker and her husband Leroy of Oklahoma City, Ronnie Medlock and his wife Joyce of Belle, and Lee Medlock of Bland; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, James and Rosie Walker of Owensville, Carl and Nadine Jarvis of Owensville, and Ada Mae Lewis of Rolla; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Medlock of Jefferson city as well many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by, four siblings, Lowell Junior Medlock, James B. Medlock, Larry Medlock, and Robbie Lynn Medlock; a nephew, Greg Medlock, and a niece Sherricia Medlock.
Visitation for Randy will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. and interment will follow in the Bland Union Cemetery.
Expression of sympathy may be made to the Bland Union Cemetery.
