Pauline Virginia Breuer Jones of Henderson, Kentucky, departed to be with the Lord from Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, Kentucky on Sunday, January 3, 2010.
Pauline was born December 22, 1929, in Bland, Maries County, Missouri. Her parents were Paul Albert Breuer and Genevieve "Mimi" Helen Swanson. Pauline was happily married to her high school sweetheart, Earl Weldon Jones, on December 28, 1947, in Belle, Maries County, Missouri. They were married for 62 years.
Pauline and Earl raised their family before she pursued her higher education at the age of 47 from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She completed her B.A. in education in three years.
After moving to Henderson, Kentucky, she taught in the Webster County School System at Sebree Elementary for 14 years before retiring. At the time she retired, she had obtained a Masters Degree and Rank 1 in education. She never forgot her students
Pauline was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir since 1977. She was also active with church missionary activities during that time.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first son, Dana Earl Jones; and one step grandchild, Leland Fraley.
Survivors include her husband, Earl; two daughters, Paula Sue Fraley and her husband, Earl and Pamela A. Lamar and her husband, Mark, all of Henderson; one son, Mark Weldon Jones and his wife, Peggy H. (Swihart/Gay) Jones, of Henderson; six grandchildren, Stephanie Guyer Lykins, and Sarah Lamar Zigler, both of Henderson, Chrystal Guyer Price of Raleigh, North Carolina, Thomas E. Fraley of Vandenberg AFB, California, Benjamin Lamar and Jonathan Lamar, both of Louisville, Kentucky; three step grandchildren, Valerie Fraley Garcia, Justin D. Gay, and Andrea H. Gay; seven great-grandchildren; and seven step
great-grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to research for Parkinson's disease or Breast Cancer cures.
