Otto "Chip" L. Brands V

Otto Brands V, age 38 passed away suddenly on Sunday October 19th, 2021.

Otto was born March 5th 1983 in Hannibal MO to Lucinda Brands and Otto Louis Brands IV.

Otto liked to travel. As a kid he did a lot of traveling with his father. Visiting Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands. He continued that thirst by becoming an over the road truck driver, seeing many parts of the United States. He loved seeing the countryside and was always excited to take pictures to send home to his mom, wanting to share with her the places he had been and the places he had seen.

Otto was a lover, if he loved you he did it unconditionally. He loved to kid around and joke or make jokes. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was very proud of his little brother Colten as well as his nieces and nephews, bragging on them when ever the chance arose.

Otto enjoyed sports. All sports really, but gravitated primarily towards hockey and baseball. He played hockey as a kid and his love for the game never diminished as he grew into an avid Blues Fan. More often than not you could see him sporting one jersey or another. He also followed baseball very closely as this was a bond he had with his grandfather (Otto III), who played professional ball for the Philadelphia Athletics Organization.

Otto’s hobbies and interests were very broad. He was an avid movie watcher and at one time had a massive collection. He also loved to play pool. Otto was very diverse, having a lot of interest in many different cultures, could be due to his traveling. Mythology was something else he had a lot of interest in.

Otto is survived by: both parents, Lucinda Brands of Belle MO, and Otto Louis Brands IV and his wife Cherryl of Riverview FL; 4 brothers, Kurt Goodman and his husband Jeremy Ward of Pensacola FL Joseph Light and his girlfriend Krista Cochran of Belle MO, Johnathan Light and his fiancé Amber Stockton of Jefferson City MO, Colten Brands of Riverview FL; One Sister Heather Brown and her husband Glenwood Brown of Hillsboro MO; Along with his siblings he is survived by two Aunts, Denise Webb and her husband Kenneth Webb of St Charles MO, Susan Rohrer of Belle MO; Two uncles, R.P.
