Oscar “Buck” E. Beesley, Jr. age 72, of Bland, passed away on July 5, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
He was born on July 22, 1953, in Owensville, a son to the late Oscar E. Beesley and Berniece (Fleischman) Beesley.
Buck was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Koenig Country Church.
On August 29, 2019, he was united in marriage to Mary Moreland. Mary survives of the home.
Buck worked at Kingsford when he was younger as well as Beufort Transfer. He retired from Jahabow Industries in Owensville after being employed for many years.
Buck enjoyed watching westerns and Counting Cars on tv and going to car shows. He liked having company over, mixing up a batch of his homemade BBQ sauce and then cooking for everybody. Buck loved his trucks and making model cars. Above all loved his family and especially his wife and his nieces and nephews. Buck will be missed greatly by them and those that knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Buck is survived by: two sisters, Connie Heyer of St. James and Pam McClure and her husband Jim of Belle; five nieces and nephews, Jimmy McClure and his wife Tinya, Lana Buchholz and her husband Mike, Paula McClure, Roy Heyer, Jr. and his wife Tracy, and Wesley Heyer and his fiancé Mary; six great-nieces and nephews, Dyllan McClure, Taylor McClure, Brock Buchholz, Natalie Heyer, Noah Heyer, and Drew Heyer; six great-great nieces and nephews, Tatum, Finley, Greylen, Maddox, and Hudsyn as well as many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by a niece, Brook Buchholz and a nephew, Frankie McClure.
A celebration of life service will be on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Crossroads Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a luncheon following the service.
