Norma Dean Owens, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Norma Dean was born July 3, 1928, in Belle, a daughter to the late Les and Mabel (Branson) Pointer.

Norma Dean was a wonderful woman, loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, who filled the lives of those around her with love and care. A tireless worker whose compassion knew no bounds, along with Lawrence her recently departed husband of 68 years, served the people of Belle at Owens Sinclair for forty-five years. "Granny" as she was known to her family, occasionally commented to have "pumped more gas than any woman in the state of Missouri".

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Belle and a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan.

She is survived by her grandson David Geisler, his wife Angela and great-granddaughter Grace Ann; son-in-law Dave Geisler; her brothers, Willard Pointer and wife Dorothy, Nelson Pointer and wife Patti, and Art Pointer and wife Judy.

In addition to her parents, Norma Dean was proceeded in death by her husband Lawrence, daughter Judy, and nephew Christopher Pointer.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Sassmann's Chapel in Belle.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Belle with Bro. Jimmy Bickell officiating. Interment will follow in the College Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the College Hill Cemetery in Norma Dean's name are appreciated.
