Naomi (Ome) Johnson, age 72, of Belle passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville.

Naomi was born August 28, 1944, in De Soto, MO, a daughter to the late Walter Fred and Anna Marie (Boenker) Dautenhahn. She was a 1962 graduate of Belle High School and received her degree in Cosmetology. Naomi was united in marriage to Charles L. Gehlert. He preceded her in death in 1968.

Naomi was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Belle and was a resident of the Belle area for most of her life. Naomi enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, nature, birds, and picking berries. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting, and making braided rugs. She was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. Naomi will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Naomi is survived by: two sons, Scott Gehlert of Belle and Kevin Johnson and his wife Melani of Clever; two grandchildren, Colton Johnson and Jake Johnson; five brothers, Tim Dautenhahn, Tom Dautenhahn, John Dautenhahn and his wife Sue, Fred Dautenhahn and his wife Toni, and Jim Dautenhahn and his wife Charlene; two sisters, Johanna Eichelberger and her husband Wayne and Helen Griffith and her husband Gary as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Naomi is preceded in death by her brothers Dave and Walt, her sisters Anna and Mary, and Mary’s husband and, special brother-in-law to Naomi, Connie Gehlert.

Visitation for Naomi will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Belle with Pastor David Roth officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Cemetery fund.
