Morris W. Brown

Morris W. Brown, age 71, of Bland, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.

Morris was born October 18, 1952, a son to the late Howard Brown and Nadine (Branson) Brown who survives of Bem.

Morris was a 1971 graduate of Bland High School and attended Linn Technical College in Linn.

On December 22, 1973, he was united in marriage to Karen Mitchell.  She survives of the home.

He was employed at Lakeside Book Company in Owensville for over 20 years.

Morris and Karen are members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In addition to his spouse Karen of 50 years and his mother Nadine, Morris is survived by: a son, Keith Brown and his wife Karla of Bland; a daughter, Kristy Scheel of Blue Springs, Missouri; three sisters, Marlene (Gene) Curry of Belle, Pamela (Bob) Keeney of Owensville and Michelle Butler of Belle; six grandchildren, Zack (Lexi) Treece, Tyler, Brandon (Macy), and Kolten Brown and Kaden and Kale Scheel; one great grandson, Cameron Brown; a brother-in-law, Denny Scego of Owensville, her father-in-law, Olin Mitchell of Bland along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Brown and Patricia Scego.

Visitation for Morris will be on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Mt Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Doug Lane officiating.  Interment will be in the Mt Zion Cemetery.
