Michael “Mike” Cochran, also known as “Meat’ and “Brussel Sprout”, age 68, passed away on October 12, 2026, in Sedalia, Missouri. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind nature, and the laughter he shared with family and friends.
Mike was born on May 28, 1958, to Almond Curtis Cochran and Bertie (McCoy) Cochran. He attended Belle High School and graduated in 1976. His years growing up in the area helped shape the life and connections he carried with him throughout the years.
Throughout his working years, Mike held several jobs, including positions at a hat factory in Vienna, Missouri, and the Lodge of the Four Seasons at the Lake of the Ozarks. He also worked in roofing and construction. Through these different jobs, Mike gained experience in a variety of fields over the course of his working life.
Mike was a natural jokester who loved making people laugh and sharing stories from years gone by. He had a remarkable memory for past events and enjoyed reminiscing about the people, places, and experiences that had made an impression on him. Whether he was telling an old story or sharing a funny memory, Mike had a way of keeping those around him entertained.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool and listening to rock music, especially AC/DC. Above all, Mike cherished spending time with his family, creating memories, sharing laughs, and enjoying the moments they had together.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Stacia Kimbell of St. Elizabeth, Missouri; his grandson, Finn Kimbell; his brothers, Craig Cochran of Vienna, Missouri, and Tony Cochran of Bland, Missouri; and his sisters, Della Nichols of Bland, Missouri, Jacqueline Gibson of Bland, Missouri, Kelley Mayer of Belle, Missouri, and Amanda Cochran and her boyfriend, Donnie Wheeler, of Belle, Missouri. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will fondly remember the time they shared with him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Almond Curtis Cochran and Bertie (McCoy) Cochran; his sister, Ann McCoy; and his nephew, Charlie McCoy.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and will be announced by Sassmann’s Chapel of Belle.
