Michael Matthew Buddemeyer

Michael Matthew Buddemeyer passed away April 17, 2023 at the Riverview Nursing Center in Mokane, Missouri.

Mike was born February 3, 1958, to the late Kenneth William Franklin and Agnes Mae (Glandon) Buddemeyer.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Bland. He worked mowing lawns and doing odd jobs. Mike knew nearly  everyone in Bland, and everyone knew him. He LOVED diet Dr. Pepper, Missouri Lottery scratchers, fishing, and receiving gifts. He was as excited as a child at Christmas and birthdays. Walking was Mike’s primary mode of transportation and the man walked thousands of miles during his life. He was often seen walking between Bland, Owensville, and Belle along Highway 28. Mike was also known to tell a tall tale or two. He enjoyed talking about and keeping track of his family members.

Mike is survived by: one sister Ruth Ann Montgomery and her husband Ben of Fulton; one brother, Keith Buddemeyer and his wife Lenda of Union; and two sisters-in-law, Opal Buddemeyer of Bland and Linda Buddemeyer of Palmyra. Mike is also survived by 11 nephews and 3 nieces with Chris and Aaron Gray and Kenny and Missy Vandegriffe being raised with him. Additionally, he leaves behind his Buddemeyer and Hicks cousins.

Mike was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Kay Vandegriffe and three brothers, Kenneth (Luke) Buddemeyer and wife Shirley Buddemeyer, Ronald (Ron) Buddemeyer and Charles (Charlie) Buddemeyer as well as two nephews and a niece.

Visitation for Mike will be on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 p.m. and interment will take place in the Bland Union Cemetery.
