Melvina R Jones

Melvina Rae Jones, age 75, of Belle, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026. She will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, friend, and a woman who lived life on her own terms

Melvina was born on May 6, 1951, near Detroit, Michigan, to the late Melvin Jones Sr. and Maybelle (Boehringer) Jones. In 1966, her family moved to Missouri, where she would go on to make her home and build a life filled with friendships, meaningful work, and many cherished memories

Melvina graduated from Lafayette High School and later completed a two-year program in computer hardware. She was a hardworking woman who held several positions throughout her career. Her longest career was with Chrysler, where she worked on the manufacturing floor. She also worked as a manager at Schnucks in St. Louis and later served as a Nutrition Manager at Boys Town of St. James, as well as an in home caregiver.

Melvina had a strong personality and was never one to sugarcoat how she felt. She was loving and caring toward those close to her, but she was also known for being honest and speaking her mind. She was a passionate supporter of the Republican Party, and anyone who knew Melvina knew exactly where she stood on the issues that mattered to her. Melvina was known for her strong personality, generous heart, and the way she was never afraid to speak her mind.

Friendships were especially important to Melvina. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and treasured the time she spent with those who were close to her. She shared a particularly special friendship with her best friend, Marsha Lorton, and valued the many memories they made together.

Melvina enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved listening to oldies music and Christian music, and she especially enjoyed watching the deer that would visit her yard. These quiet moments brought her happiness and gave her many opportunities to simply enjoy the beauty around her.

She will be remembered for her strong will, honest nature, loving heart, and the friendships she cherished throughout her life. Her family and friends will hold dear the memories of the conversations they shared, the laughter they enjoyed, and the many moments that made Melvina uniquely herself.

Melvina is survived by her three sisters, Darlene Jones of Tucson, Arizona; Sharon Jones of Henderson, Nevada; and Leslie Jones of Missouri; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Jones Sr. and Maybelle (Boehringer) Jones; and her brother, Melvin Jones Jr.
