Mary Virginia Heyer, age 77, of Belle passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at her residence in Owensville.
Mary was born March 30, 1942 in Osage County, a daughter to the late Vernon Ivan and Alma Isabell (Jaeger) Jett.
On December 16, 1961, Mary was united in marriage in the home of Pastor Roy Jett in Bland, to Bobby Jean Heyer who survives at the home.
Mary was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bland.
Mary lived a simple life with family being her top priority. She loved sewing, attending reunions, marshmallow Pepsi’s, peppermint patties, and going on road trips that usually ended with a picnic including home grown tomatoes. She enjoyed collecting recipes, and her raw apple cake was her well known specialty. She always had plenty of food and refreshments for visitors. Mary was always there for people in need and was known as the card lady who always had a birthday or sympathy card ready. She especially loved time spent with her family with Wednesday nights being known as family nights at her daughters house. Mary will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all that knew her.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, Mary is survived by: one daughter, Patty King and husband Larry; two grandchildren, Dejun King and wife Taylor, Alyssa Hodges and husband Will; two great grandchildren, Apollo King, March Hodges, and many extended family members and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Warren Jett.
Visitation for Mary will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Mt. Zion Church near Bland. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Terry Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
