Martin J. Broadhurst

Martin J. Broadhurst, age 70, formally of St. Louis, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at his home in Bland.

Martin was born October 10, 1943, in Hickman, Kentucky to the late William Broadhurst and Coren Jones.
On September 12, 1992, Martin was united in marriage to Mildred Ware in Belle, Mo. She survives of the home.

Martin was a resident of the St. Louis area and worked at the Quality Market Street Supermarket for 13 years before he and Mildred moved to the Bland area where they lived for over 10 years. During that time he worked for Playmaster in Bland and Custom Printing in Owensville before retiring. Martin loved to play his guitar along with the gospel stations off the radio. Martin and Mildred were in a gospel group called the Heavenly Highway Gospel Singers at one time.

Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife Mildred, Martin is survived by: two sons, Daniel Broadhurst of Leesburg and Ferrell Watson and his wife Debbie of St. Louis; one daughter, Pam Watson of St. Louis; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Broadhurst, Dawn Wallace, Sheri Watson, Luis Macias, and Michael Watson; and 3 great-grandchildren, Shianne Watson, Tessa Watson and Elijah Watson.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Bland Union Cemetery in Bland with Randy Carr officiating.
