Mabel Virginia Campbell Naugle of Belle died Monday morning, September 13, 2010, in the Maries Manor Nursing home in Vienna. She was 91. Mabel was born August 12, 1919 in the Summerfield area to parents Alexander and Anna Belle Ridenhour. She grew up there loving the area and always called it home.
Mabel was united in marriage to Arthur Campbell on October 28, 1939, at the Maries County Courthouse and was married for 41 years, until Arthur passed away in 1981. To that union were added three children, Gary, Vicky and Rick.
Mabel moved to Belle at a young age to work as a waitress. She lived there all her adult life, where she raised her family with Arthur. She may have been your laundry lady through the years or sold you Avon or a garment from the M & M Dress Shop. She supported her boys sport careers and encouraged her daughter to sing. She loved to dance. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church and taught her children about Jesus.
She was preceded in death by brother, Wilbur Ridenhour and sister, Myrtle Jones Thompson.
Surviving Mabel are son, Gary Campbell and wife Sue from Pueblo, Co., daughter, Vicky Withouse and husband Kirk of Rolla, Mo. and son Rick Campbell and wife Brenda of Belle, Mo., nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws Laura Imo Ridenhour , Wanda Campbell and Marilyn Campbell and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all her friends and family.
