Lawrence Burl Owens a lifetime resident of Belle died Thursday, March 21, 2013, in the Mercy hospital in Springfield, MO. He was 91. Lawrence was born on December 6, 1921. He is the son of the late Bill and Elizabeth Keeney Owens. On October 22, 1944, Lawrence was joined in marriage to Norma Dean Pointer and to this union one daughter was born.
Surviving Lawrence is his wife Norma Dean, a grandson David Giesler with his wife Angela and their daughter Grace,
and a son in law David Giesler Also surviving Lawrence are two sisters Iva Vandelicht and Janice Lange both of Belle
Lawrence is preceded in death by his daughter Judy and two brothers Melford Owens and Clarence Owens.
Lawrence served in the US Army during WWII. He and Norma Dean owned and operated the Owens Sinclair Station for many years and were loyal members of the Belle community.
Visitation for Lawrence will be Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 5 p.m. for friends at Sassmann's Funeral Home in Belle, Mo. Services for Lawrence will be on Monday, March 25, 2013 from the First Baptist Church in Belle. Interment will be in College Hill Cemetery.
