Herman Cleveland Hummel

Herman "Shorty" Hummel of Belle died peacefully, March 26, 2013, in the St. Mary's hospital in Jefferson City. He was 79. Shorty was born on October 14th, 1933, in Osage county. He is the son of the late Otto and Lucy Johnson Hummel. Shorty was married to Naomi Pointer.
Shorty is survived by two sisters Mary Gray Anthony with her husband Matt of Richland and Margie Crossly with her husband John of Belle. Also surviving is Cindy Sneed with her husband Donald. Cindy was raised as a daughter by Naomi and Shorty.
Preceding Shorty in death are two brothers Gene and Jim Hummel.
Shorty was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Shorty lived in Fulton for over 30 years and worked for Martin Construction Company in the rock quarry.
Services for Herman were held on Friday, March 29, 2013 from First Baptist Church in Belle. Interment was in Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, Mo.
