Frances Rae Elrod

Frances Rae Elrod of Vienna died Thursday morning, December 27, 2012, in the Maries Manor nursing home. She was 74. Frances was born on February 27, 1938, in St. James. She is the daughter of the late Murl and Mae Jenkins Smith. On April 13, 1968, Frances was married to Russ Elrod.
Surviving Frances are two sons Bobby Baxter and Jim Elrod and two daughters Robin Teel and Barbara Stradford. There are four grand children Ben Stradford, Holly Kleinhieder, Derek Fann, and Erin Schroeder, and four great grand children Joelie, Kenzi, Easton Paul, and Hayden Marie. Also surviving is one sister Velma Smith.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Russ, three brothers Thurman, Moody, and an infant Murl,Jr., and one sister Lorna Stockton.
Frances was baptized in the Beulah Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the VFW auxiliary. Frances began her working life in the Brown and International shoe factories. She also worked at the Casey's General Store and Maries Manor.
Services for Frances were held on December 29, 2012 from Sassmann's Chapel in Belle. Interment was in Campbell Cemetery.
