Fern A. Cramer, age 86, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston,
Fern lived in Excelsior Springs, Missouri for 51 years before moving to Iowa in
2010 where she lived her final two years at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa.
Fern was born on August 23, 1926, in Belle a daughter to the late Chesley and Tillie
On November 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Roy Cramer after he was
discharged from the United States Marines and two daughters, Marsha and Terra Sue, blessed their marriage.
Fern loved being a mother and homemaker but when she was 60 she started a new career
working part time at the library in Excelsior Springs where she worked for 20 years.
Everyone enjoyed Fern's kind nature and sweet spirit. Her true joy was being with her
family and especially wonderful were the summer visits by her grandchildren Michael
Fern is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marsha (Gary)
Lohmann of Ankeny, Iowa; her grandchildren, Michael (Bonita) Musal of Muncie,
Indiana and Mindi (John Myers) of Windsor Heights, Iowa; her great grandchildren,
Rebecca and Audrey Musal, and Will, Ella, and Clara Myers. She is also survived by a
sister, Dorletha Withouse; two brothers, Bob Goodman of Belle and Jerry Goodman of Bland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; a daughter, Terra Sue Greenawald; a brother, Ken Goodman, and a sister, Myrtle Oliver.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 with Funeral Services to follow at the Liberty Church of Christ in Belle. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Liberty Cemetery Fund.
The family greatly appreciates and thanks each one who lovingly cared for Fern at the
Madrid Home until she was called to her Heavenly Home. Mom you are loved so much
and we are thankful for many wonderful memories.
