Ethel Kneeskern Runge of Belle died Thursday, June 14, 2012, in the Gasconade Manor Nursing Home. She was 74. Ethel was born on February 23, 1938. She is the daughter of the late Keep and Blanche Lease Mahaney. Ethel was married to Mike Kneeskern and to this union three children, Scott, Tammy, and Dean, were born. Mike preceded Ethel in death in 1970.
Ethel began her working life as a clerk in the ASCS office in Vienna. She was best known for her 32 years working for Belle State Bank.
In 1992, Ethel married Elwood Runge. They were members of the Belle Church of Christ.
Surviving Ethel is her husband Elwood, daughter Tammy Michel with her husband Scott of Owensville, two sons Dean Kneeskern with his wife Susan of Jefferson City and Scott Kneeskern of Belle, and step family Kevin Runge with his wife Debbie of Belle, Beth Hollis with her husband Keith of Vienna, and Lois Rasgah with her husband Maurice of St. Louis. Also surviving Ethel are two brothers Albert Mahaney with his wife Bonnie and Richard Mahaney with his wife Alanna both of Belle, and three sisters Janie Snitker with her husband Gale of Belle, Sandra VanHeukelem with her husband Norman of Denver, Colorado, and Linda Ridenhour with her husband Marion of Jefferson City. There are twelve grand children and six great grand children.
Services for Ethel Runge will be at 1pm on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Belle. Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery in Belle. Visitation for Ethel will be on Saturday, June 16, from 4-8 pm at Sassmann Chapel in Belle.
