Dottell Ruth Elizabeth Bohne Branson of Belle died early Friday morning in the Brooking Park Nursing Home in Chesterfield. She was 93. Dot had been suffering from dementia and a patient at Brooking Park for the last four years.
Dot was born on January 21,1917, in St. Louis. She is one of six children born to the late Edgar and Carrie Malter Bohne. On October 21, 1939, Dot was married to Walter Ray Branson in St. Louis. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Surviving Dot is her son Dick with his wife Christine of Belle, Sharon Zinser of Chesterfield, and Rita Lange with her husband Frank of Overland Park, Kansas. There are eight grand children and nine great grand children.
Dot is preceded in death by her husband Ray, her brothers Paul, Vincent, Tom, and Lawrence and a sister Hortense Bohne'.
Dot was raised in St. Louis and as a young woman worked in the credit office of Famous & Barr. During WWII, Dot and Ray lived in Washington D.C. while Ray served in the army. After the war they returned to St. Louis and in 1946 they moved to Belle where they owned and operated a dairy farm. When the children were old enough for school, Dot went back to work in the office of International Shoe.
Dot and Ray were married for 57 years. Soon after Ray's death, Dot moved back to St. Louis where she was cared for by her daughter Sharon. Her son Dick continues to operate the family farm.
Services for Dot were held Saturday afternoon in the Sassmann's Chapel in Belle. Interment was in the Liberty Cemetery.
