Dieanna N. Shanks

Dieanna N. (Kochenberger) Shanks, age 90, of Belle, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Dieanna was born October 1, 1935, in Maries County, a daughter to the late James and Hannah (Wolfe) Kochenberger. On September 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Russell Shanks in Belle, Mo.

She had been employed at the International Shoe Company for many years until they closed. Then she was employed with: Ottenheimer’s and the Golden Rule Café in Belle, Mo.

She enjoyed gardening, tending flowers and canning. Dieanna loved watching her great-grandchildren and her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. She will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.

Dieanna is survived by: a daughter, Ruthie and her husband Burke, her son Jerry and his wife Toni of Belle, Mo; grandchildren Jaret Shanks and his wife Angie, Kisha Woodruff, Kenneth Lange and his wife Misty, and Brettany Shanks; great-grandchildren, Dalton Shanks with his fiancé Chelse Vail and son, Tristan, Payden Woodruff, Haley Alcorn with her husband Bill, Glayden Woodruff, Makenna Lange, Mieah Shanks, and Madelyn Lange; brothers, Jimmy Kochenberger and his wife Darlene of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, Billy Kochenberger of Marinton, Illinois, Gale Kochenberger and his wife Melody of Watseka, Illinois.

Dieanna was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; three sisters, Leona Kochenberger, Margie Lober, and Maymie Huckstep; one brother, Richard Kochenberger; her parents and one grandson, Jared (Jamie) Shanks; and one nephew, Kelly Jones.

Visitation for Dieanna will be on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026 at the Koenig Country Church with Kevin Runge officiating. Interment will follow in the Pilot Knob Church Cemetery.
