Bernice L. Beesley, age 86, of Bland, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Bernice was born May 16, 1927, in Byron, a daughter to the late John and Clara (Bentlage) Fleischmann.

Bernice attended Indian Creek School in rural Osage County.

On December 25, 1947, Bernice was united in marriage to Oscar E. Beesley, Sr. by Rev. Roy Jett in Bland. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1979.

Bernice was a homemaker as well as a great cook. Being a great cook allowed her to work various jobs in the area. She loved to garden, work with flowers, quilting, embroidering, baking, cooking and loved her dogs, Cricket and Maggie Mae. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bernice is survived by: one son, Oscar Beesley, Jr., of Bland; two daughters, Connie Heyer of Rolla, and Pam McClure and her husband Jim of Belle;one sister, Sylvia Lewis; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends,

In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice was preceded in death by; two grandsons, Joshua Aaron Heyer, Frankie McClure; a great-granddaughter Brook Taylor Buchholz; four brothers, Eugene, Elmer, Everett, and Albert Fleischmann; three sisters, Matilda Fleischmann, Lilian Fleischmann and Esther Cordes; a son-in-law, Roy E. Heyer; two brothers-in-laws, Louis Cordes and Tony Lewis; and a niece, Tracy Lewis.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Sassmann's Chapel in Bland.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Sassmann's Chapel in Bland with Pastor Joey Bartle and Pastor Alan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Bland Union Baptist Cemetery.
